Sunday Afternoon Outing
April 15, 2020Newsletter – December 2020
March 24, 2021As we enter the last few days of the renovation work at our school in Nosy Be, we are pleased to announce that Wings of Change is getting ready to welcome the first batch of the students to enrol in the Hospitality and tourism program.
During our renovation phase, we have also rehabilitated the water supply system for the school as well as the for the fishing village of Ambatozavavy. We have also completed projects with the villagers and we are planning to hire staff from the village in priority. More such initiatives will be undertaken in the next few months.
We welcome Anita Rafanomezantsoa for joining us as our Manager. Anita has extensive experience in managing non-profit projects and her passion towards eco-tourism will be a great asset to the organization and I look forward to working closely with her in the upcoming months and years.
We are also proud of our partnership with GTTP and to work hand-in-hand with Anne Lotter, executive director. Anne is as passionate about this project as we are.
I am also pleased to welcome Leonne Massimiliano as our project manager and Mica Ramos as our project coordinator.
A big thank you to Father Jaovelo from the College Cobara school for having generously opened the doors to us. Starting next month, our students will commence their English courses at our Language Lab at College Cobara to better prepare themselves for the hotel school program. Father Jaovelo is a very well-known figure in the education world in Madagascar and we hope this initial collaboration will develop over the years.
We also want to thank Anne Lotter, Dr Sanjay Metha, Sagar Chitre and Mica Ramos, who spent countless hours structuring the official program curriculum as we get ready to open our doors.
Of course, our friend Jean-Louis Salles continues to assist us and support us in all aspects of the project and we thank him for being so pro-active and helpful.
Our official website www.wingsofchange.co was launched earlier this week, and we thank Sanaz Hanke and Barunes Padhy for having put in a tremendous amount of time and their generosity in sponsoring it. You can find further information on the school, our curriculum and the different ways you can be part of this journey on our website.
Finally, we extend our gratitude to Fondation Suisse de Madagascar for enabling us to undertake this very inspiring project. A big thank you to Fiorenzo Melera, Mascia Cantoni and Simonetta Perucchi Borsa.
Despite the health crisis, and subject to the lifting of lockdown restrictions, Wings of Change is gearing to open its doors in January 2021. As my passion project turns into a reality, I would like to thank all of you for your generous support and I look forward to the weeks and months ahead as we enter our first school year!
