For the first time ever, people of the Village of Ambatozavavy in Nosy Be, Madagascar, has come together to celebrate love, family and hope. The air was filled with pure bliss and enthusiasm as they witness the very first Santa Claus parade which before only emerges in children’s fantasies. The ceremony commenced with a procession accompanied by a musical entertainment and of course with the presence of the real Santa Claus.
The students of Wings of Change had been preparing for the greatest parade for weeks, and their eyes brimmed with excitement as they would be putting their preparations into action to bring life to the Christmas festivities.
The parade started at the school and went all the way to the church, where the villagers had gathered to watch the show that the Wings of Change children had organized. Since it was the first time that so many people had gathered to celebrate the holiday season, everyone in the audience had been anticipating the performance. The celebration started with Christmas hymns, poems from the locals, gifts for the Saadri students, expressions of gratitude, and the sharing of candy and photos with Santa Claus. Not only did our students enjoy being on stage, but the entire community was thrilled as they watched the students re-enact the birth story of Jesus. It was the most unforgettable experience for the Students, children, and people in the Village. That they will treasure every minute of this Christmas season and brings nothing but fond memories, Happiness and laughter.
