May 19, 2023Wings of Change Students Make Christmas Trees in Madagascar - Literally!
How could you bring a Christmas Tree to a place where pine trees do not exist?
That was the challenge for Wings of Change students December, 2022 in one of their classes.
And they did it! The students created a magical Christmas atmosphere in an original and self-designed Christmas tree made up of all 50 of the cohort members.
The task, to make something original, was given to them during Creativity Through English, a course that develops creative thinking alongside learning English as a second language.
This class is but one of many courses during the six-month vocational hospitality training program that students undertake at Wing of Change.
And to make for an even more luminary effect, the students added lights to their tree, suggesting a real live Christmas Tree! What a playful and joyful magical moment for the holidays.
Certainly, this is not your typical Christmas Tree! And that’s just one of the messages about this particular tree. In kinesthetic learning exercises, students are encouraged to collaborate and create a living picture. The Christmas Tree was made for the holidays in the village of Ambatosavaby.
